NTRODUCTION
SWAROTUBE is a new radical approach in functional lighting with high-power LEDs: With its crystal glass optics and optimized radiation geometrics in high-quality aluminum housing, SWAREFLEX ushers in a new era of indoor and outdoor illumination as well as tunnel lighting. Already today the system allows for luminous efficacies of 140 lm per watt (system output). The high system efficiency, low energy consumption, the low maintenance, the use of recyclable components and the long service life underline the sustainability of this solution. SwaroTube is suitable for multiple applications.

AWARDS
In 2011, the International Road Federation awarded Swareflex the "Global Road Achievement Award" in the category "Technology / facilities and production" for its product SWAROTUBE. In 2012 SWAROTUBE was bestowed with the "Innovation Award Architecture and Technology" of the journals AIT and xia Intelligent Architecture. The innovative LED lighting concept for the parking garage “THE SQUAIRE” at Frankfurt Airport, realized with SWAROTUBE, was awarded the Fraport Energy Award 2012.

SWAROTUBE is a versatile and efficient LED lighting system for various applications such as tunnels, industrial buildings, parks, streets and traffic spaces in urban areas or airports. It consists of different housing profiles, which can be combined with all SWAREFLEX PRECISION crystal optics [link to Precision Products]. Depending on the application housing, mounting system, LEDs, electronics and lens optics will be coordinated. The combination of these building blocks makes for bespoke lighting solutions

Swareflex‘ newly developed tunnel lighting SWAROTUBE T stands out for its homogeneous light distribution and is completely glare-free. With this solution can be achieved a longitudinal uniformity of over 80%. This is well above the standard requirements and means that there are no visible light and dark zones more. The uniform white LED lighting makes for a bright and generous atmosphere in the tunnel and helps easy recognition of obstacles, hazardous areas or other vehicles. Optical irritations are prevented, the driver feels more relaxed, the sense of security is increased.

System Design
The system design allows for the electronic components to be placed outside the housing, for example in a wiring closet. The luminaire itself, consisting of heatsink, PCB, LED and crystal glass lens can be mounted (on the tunnel ceiling) with a simple and secure attachment mechanism on a dedicated rail. All electronic devices are therefore accessible at all times without need to shut down traffic in the tunnel.
The luminaire is protected by the crystal glass optics against mechanical and chemical influences, such as the aggressive tunnel atmosphere, and can be cleaned by machine. The properties of the crystal glass optics make for a durably high light transmission and eliminate the need for an additional cover panel, thus adding to the system efficiency.
SWAROTUBE can be integrated into feedback systems, regulating and control circuits of modern tunnel systems.
Tunnel entrance luminaire
The tunnel entrance area requires the driver’s increased attention. By slowly lowering the luminance the driver’s eye can gradually get accustomed to the light conditions in the tunnel. The intelligent control SWAROCONTROL allows continuous tracking of the luminance at the outdoor brightness level, a distinct advantage over conventional tunnel lighting . With high brightness in the outdoor area very high luminance is also required in the tunnel entrance. The powerful SWAROTUBE TE was conceived for this purpose with a luminous flux of up to 20,000 lumens. With the asymmetric radiating crystal glass optics A03 [ link to lens A03 ] it directs the light output precisely in the counter-jet principle to the road. Previously a variety of conventional lighting was necessary in the entrance area to provide the necessary light flow. SWAROTUBE is the first LED product on the market to meet these high standards.
